Cap for parents/grandparents: 10,000 as promised

A notice was posted on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website on January 7 which said that the intake is now closed and IRCC will increase the intake from 5,000 to 10, 000 per year. Immigration Minister John McCallum confirmed yesterday that the government will accept 10,000 parents and grandparents sponsorship applications.

About a week ago, the cap was still 5,000  according to what posted on the IRCC’s website. This updated confirmation will sure make 5,000 more families happy.
